ASUS is rolling out Android Wear 2.0 update to the ZenWatch 3

If you are an owner of the Asus ZenWatch 3, you will be happy to know that Android Wear 2.0 is currently being rolled out to the device. However, ZenWatch 2 users might still have to wait for awhile more to see the update.

Although ASUS previously stated that both the ZenWatch 2 and 3 will be getting the update in the Q2 of 2017, they fail to bring the update to the devices. In a new statement from the company, they mention that the update will start rolling out on the July 11 for the ZenWatch 3, and the ZenWatch 2 will be getting the update later in the summer. Looks like they have delivered on their promise, as a Reddit user was able to update his watch to the latest version of Android Wear. The best part of this update, users are able to remove all ASUS software that comes with the watch.

Other Reddit users have also confirmed that they have got the update, but as ASUS pointed out, the updates will arrive in stages. If you own a ZenWatch 3 and can’t wait for the update, you can sideload this OTA zip file. For more information head over to the official Reddit thread here.
