ASUS ROG Phone 5 leaked in a live image

The next ROG Phone we’ll be getting is apparently the ROG Phone 5 that’ll also come with a 6,000mAh battery; an image leak revealed the number ’05’ on the alleged new ROG Phone.

Why not ROG Phone 4?

ASUS could be skipping the number ‘4’ with its ROG Phone due to the superstition that ‘4’ is an unlucky number. However, whether the phone is called ROG Phone 4 or ROG Phone 5, it doesn’t matter as much as its internals. Based on a listing found on China’s 3C certification, the new ROG Phone is revealed to come with 65W charging and has the ASUS_I005DA model number.

ROG Phone 5 to launch earlier than usual

The similar model number has been found previously on Geekbench; this device will also come with a Snapdragon 888 chip, 8GB RAM and run on Android 11. ASUS also had a teaser poster that hints towards a March/April release based on the Aries constellation (March 20 to April 21).

Same same, but different

The leaked image revealed the rear design of the upcoming ROG Phone. It doesn’t look completely different from the ROG Phone 3, but it looks slightly more rugged and now comes with a red button on the lower right corner — some are speculating that it’s a shortcut button. Chinese leakster WhyLab also pointed out that the phone will feature a 64MP triple camera setup.
