ASUS ROG announces the Rapture GT-AC5300 router made for gamers in mind

The ASUS Republic of Gamers has announced the Rapture GT-AC5300, the first ever ROG router that is made for gaming. With the increasing need of fast and lag-free game play and ASUS understand that users don’t only need fast WiFi transfer rate but features that will boost gameplay experience. The ROG router is based on these needs by including a powerful PC-grade CPU to high-performance antennas and ultra-fast ports making this router ready to face challenges head on.

The router features ROG Gaming Center, a powerful interface that gives gamers full control over all aspects of the network. It can give you an instant overview of the key network parameters including the internet status, stability and what apps or games the devices are running. Another feature is the WiFi Radar which allows users to analyse the wireless signals to detect any interference and select the least congested challenges for the best wireless performance. Game Boost will monitor network traffic and prioritise gaming packets for the best possible performance and Game IPS provides protection from external attacks. This feature is also supported on consoles.

The Rapture router features three levels of gaming acceleration, with two out of the eight ports, are dedicated gaming ports to prioritize network traffic to devices using those ports. Packets travelling over long distances might be lost during transfer, the inbuilt support for Gamers Private Network powered by WTFast allows users to setup a private gaming network to get the best connection between the router and the gaming server to get the best possible experience.

Lastly, the router will support 5Ghz and 2.5Ghz bands which gamers are able to allocate one of the two 5GHz bands to gaming devices, leaving the rest for public use. The device is powered by a powerful 1.8GHz 64bit quad-core processor which is more than enough power to handle heavy loads. It comes with eight gigabit-LAN switch to allow more than enough devices to have your very own private LAN party. and the RangeBoost feature will increase coverage significantly making your LAN party even bigger.
