ASUS Releases MG278Q 27-Inch 144 Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor

ASUS today announced MCG278Q feature a 27-inch widescreen-quad-high-definition (WQHD) display designed for professional gaming. The monitor has an almost-instantaneous 1 ms response time; as well as an incredible 144 Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync technology for smooth, seamless gameplay. Besides that, the MG278Q has an ergonomic design, Ultra-Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technologies to protect users’ eyes during marathon gaming sessions.

ASUS MG278Q features a new generation of displays with WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440) IPS panel with a pixel density of 109 pixels per inch (PPI). Besides that, the MG278Q display delivers highly detailed images and has up to 77% more onscreen desktop area than similarly-sized standard Full HD (1920 x 1080) displays. Despite the big size of the monitor has a unique slim profile plus narrow bezel that makes an almost-seamless multi-display setup with an ergonomically-designed stand including full tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment. Users are also able to easily detach the monitor from the standing with a quick-release latch, and use the VESA wall-mounted to save more space.

ASUS MG278Q features the ASUS-exclusive GamePlus hotkey for crosshair overlay, timer functions and frames per second (FPS) counter. Besides that, the crosshair overlay have four different option for users to choose  which one will suits the game they’re playing with an onscreen timer users can position on the left of the display to keep track of the elapsed gaming time. Therefore, ASUS kind enough to provide six preset display modes: Scenery, Racing, Cinema, RTS/RPG, FPS, and sRGB.

In addition, the monitor offers rich connectivity options for better signal transmission, including one dual-link DVI, two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort 1.2. The DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI-1 outputs provide native WQHD output. There will be two fast-charging USB 3.0 ports charge mobile devices quickly and can be used as an alternative connection for a secondary display. Thankfully, ASUS provide a cable-management place that found on the back of the display helps organize and hide cables to keep the gaming area tidy.

ASUS MG278Q will be available in Asia, Europe in August, and North America early September, but there isn’t have any pricing available at the moment.
