Android Wear 2.0 went through a series of delays for quite some time before eventually launched by Google. Major manufacturers like Motorola, Huawei and LG have rolled out the new wearable software to their respective smartwatches like the Moto 360 2nd Generation, Huawei Watch and the LG Watch Urbane. Taiwanese company ASUS had seemingly set a goal for its Android Wear 2.0 rollout for Q2, but we are now in the second half of 2017, and ASUS is making a second promise.

According to Wareable, ASUS has now claimed that Android Wear 2.0 will arrive to the ZenWatch 3 this coming July the 11th. As for the ZenWatch 2, the software will be rolled out in two stages – in July and the second stage late July or early August. This announcement comes long after ASUS wearable users have been left out in the cold since the launch of Android Wear 2.0.

One key feature of Android Wear 2.0 is that it will have standalone apps that don’t require a phone companion app to function. It also features a keyboard for typing, alongside a ton of enhancements including better battery life.
