This leaves only a handful of major smartphone manufacturers which have yet to join the “bezel-less” screen bandwagon. ASUS has done so today, announcing a mid range smartphone which features an 18:9 display on the front. It will most likely remain as a China exclusive device for the near future, but let’s take a look.

The ASUS Pegasus 4S sports an all metal design, which at first glance looks like an iPhone 7, based on the image by ASUS. The phone’s display is of HD+ resolution, measuring at 5.7-inches. This means that the Pegasus 4S will likely be as large as a typical 5.2-inch smartphone with a 16:9 display. Underneath the hood lies a mid range MediaTek 6750T processor alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There is a slightly watered down variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

The rear panel of the ASUS Pegasus 4S consists of a dual rear camera setup, fitted with 16MP and 8MP sensors. Below the dual cam setup sits the rear fingerprint sensor. The front facing camera is of 8 megapixels. The handset comes packing a large 4,030mAh battery which sounds more than enough in theory.

ASUS has yet to announce the release date of the Pegasus 4S, neither has it revealed the phone’s pricing. We’re guessing that the Pegasus 4S will cost around the equivalent of RM 1,300. What do you think?
