Aside from launching the ZenFone Max Pro, Asus also introduced the mid-range ZenFone 5 which comes with a great looking screen and uses AI to further enhance the photography capability and overall user experience of the phone. It also has the best implementation of the notch in any phones we have seen this and last year.
ZenFone 5 comes with a 6.2-inch FHD+ display which supports the DCI-P3 and the lastest mid-range Snapdragon 636 processor 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB expandable storage. On the back, is a 12MP+8MP setup which supports AI Scene Detection to automatically adjust the camera settings to get the best picture, AI Photo Learning to better understand how users take photos and adjust it accordingly and Real-Time Portrait which is an advance bokeh effect that ensures the subject’s details are sharp while the background is blurred.
Audio on the ZenFone 5 is also advance as it comes with five-magnet speakers, driven by dual smart amplifiers for maximum volume and protecting it from damage at high volume levels. It also supports Hi-Res Audio files which are 4x better than CD quality. Other than that, it supports DTS Headphone:X for a 7.1-channel virtual surround-sound over headphone, giving you the best immersion when watching movies or playing games.
The device is powered by a 3,300mAh battery which supports Asus BoostMaster fast charge technology. It also has AI Charging which will keep the phone at 80% battery when you are charging it at night, and bring it to 100% just before you wake up. This preserves the battery life for a longer time, so you don’t need to worry about the battery losing its ability to hold its charge.
The Asus ZenFone 5 comes in two colours of Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver. Similar with the ZenFone Max Pro, the ZenFone 5 will retail on Lazada for RM1,299 with 0% GST.
