Asus devices receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update

In their official ZenTalk forums, Asus has announced that some of its devices will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update soon. Although the actual rollout timings have not been released yet, Asus however, has announced a list of its devices that will be updated when the time comes.

Before this announcement, rumors have been circulating that we would most likely see Asus latest devices receiving this update, which consists of the ZenFone 2 series, Laser and Deluxe; and looks like the rumors were quite accurate. However, one additional device that will also be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is surprisingly – the PadFone S. The PadFone S will be the only 2014 device in this list, and unfortunately for owners of older ZenFone devices, so far Asus has not addressed this issue about the update.

Here is the complete list of the Asus devices and model numbers that are confirmed to receive this new update:

  • PadFone S (PF500KL)
  • ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML)
  • ZenFone 2 Deluxe/Special Edition (ZE551ML)
  • ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KG, ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE600KL, ZE601KL)
  • ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)
