French manufacturer ARCHOS has a habit of attempting to steal the limelight from the big players out there, the ones who shine during tradeshows – Samsung, Huawei, Sony, Lenovo and a couple more. It’s trying to pull off the exact same trick again this time, right before IFA 2016 at Berlin. The company has announced a budget device which seems pretty value for money for £99.99 (RM529.37).
For a hundred quid, as the Brits say, ARCHOS will offer you the 50f Helium, which the company claims to be of premium build with a metal finish. The device sports a 5-inch IPS display at 720p, which is pretty acceptable for phones of this range, an entry level Snapdragon 210 processor with 2GB of RAM plus 32GB of expandable storage. As for its camera setup, the 50f Helium features an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP selfie shooter, barely meeting today’s standards. Powering this small processing package is a 2,000mAh battery, and not forgetting, the rear fingerprint sensor. The phone supports 4G LTE and will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, which ARCHOS claims to be “in its purest form, with fancy functionalities”.
Surprise surprise, that’s not the only phone ARCHOS has unveiled. Joining the party is a Lite version of the 50f Helium, which will feature half the RAM (1GB) and a quarter of the storage (8GB) for a price tag of £79.90 (RM423.01). The ARCHOS 50f Helium will go on display during IFA and the phone claimed to be available worldwide in October. Let us know your thoughts at the comments section below!
