Apple has just launched three new GPU configurations for the third-generation Mac Pro – breathing new life into the workstation that was launched in 2019.
Your options in terms of configurations now come by way of the Radeon Pro W6800X MPX Module, or a Radeon Pro W6800X Duo MPX module; for something beefier, you can also opt for the Radeon Pro W6900X MPX module instead.
The Radeon Pro W6800X with 32GB of GDDR6 memory will set you back an additional RM9,600; while the Duo variant will cost you RM18,400. With two of these Duo cards equipped in your Mac Pro, you’re able to get 60 teraflops of graphics performance along with up to 128GB of memory.
Fabric Link allows the Duo variant to access higher bandwidths of 84GB/s when two GPUs are combined like in the Duo configuration, which further improves multi-GPU performance.
Moving on to the Radeon Pro W6900X, it comes with 32GB of GDDR6 memory, and it’ll set you back a whopping RM22,400, or you can also opt two units of the card installed, which will cost a mammoth RM46,400.
The GPU offers up to 22.2 teraflops of single-precision computing, or up to 44.4 teraflops of half-precision computing.
These new GPUs will replace the older AMD Vega II and Vega II Duo configurations, but you can still purchase them as standalone pieces on the store should you already own a Mac Pro.
