Apple has officially introduced the new iPad Air with M4 in Malaysia, bringing a significant performance upgrade while maintaining the same starting price as the previous generation. Now powered by the M4 chip and equipped with more memory, the latest iPad Air delivers a major boost in performance, graphics and AI capabilities.
The new iPad Air is available in two sizes — 11-inch and 13-inch — offering users a choice between enhanced portability and a larger multitasking display. Both models are offered in Blue, Purple, Starlight and Space Grey finishes.
M4 Delivers Up to 2.3x Faster Performance
At the core of the new iPad Air is Apple’s M4 chip, featuring an 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU. According to Apple, performance is up to 30 percent faster than the M3-based iPad Air and up to 2.3 times faster than the M1 model. The upgraded GPU also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing and second-generation mesh shading, delivering significantly improved 3D rendering performance — up to four times faster than the M1 variant.
This makes the iPad Air well suited for demanding workflows such as editing in Final Cut Pro, compositing in Pixelmator Pro and high-performance gaming.
More Memory, Faster AI Processing
The new model now comes with 12GB of unified memory — a 50 percent increase over the previous generation — alongside memory bandwidth of 120GB/s. The 16-core Neural Engine is up to three times faster than the M1 version, improving on-device AI performance for tasks such as photo search, background removal and AI-powered app features.
Apple positions the iPad Air as a powerful device for Apple Intelligence features in iPadOS 26, including smarter productivity tools, enhanced multitasking and more advanced creative workflows.
Wi-Fi 7 and Faster Cellular Connectivity
The new iPad Air also introduces Apple’s N1 wireless chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread connectivity. Cellular models are equipped with the C1X modem, offering up to 50 percent faster cellular speeds and improved power efficiency compared to the previous generation. 5G connectivity and eSIM support remain available for global connectivity.

The new iPad Air with M4 is available for pre-order starting March 4, with official availability beginning March 11 in Malaysia.
