Alongside with the long-awaited Apple TV+ video streaming service, Apple also introduced Apple News+, a news subscription service that lets user access more than 300 reading materials with a single subscription.
Apple News+ is made with the goal to bring reliable news to users in US, Canada, UK and Australia, and Apple has not announced whether its availability will be expanded to other countries. However, Apple News readers should rest assured that they can still access to the free content on the app without any issues.
“We’re committed to supporting quality journalism, and with Apple News+, we want to celebrate the great work being done by magazines and news outlets,” said Lauren Kern, editor-in-chief of Apple News. The new subscription service includes publications such as ELLE, Vogue, People, The Wall Street Journal — all of which have reached global recognition.
Unlike Apple Arcade and Apple TV+, Apple News+ is already available in US for $9.99 a month and in Canada for $12.99 a month, in which users will be able to get a one-month trial for free and ensure that their devices are iOS 12.2 or macOS 10.14. and above. It will be available in UK and Australia later this year though not specified, and can be shared through Family Sharing.
