Apple discontinues Thunderbolt Displays

Looking to get an additional monitor for your Mac/Macbook? You better get one soon as Apple has announced that they will be discontinuing the Thunderbolt Display.

While the Thunderbolt Display will no longer be in production, you can still get the monitor through Apple.com, Apple retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers while supplies last. Once supplies of the Thunderbolt Display has been exhausted however, that would be the end of the Thunderbolt Display. As for those who wish to own a Mac-compatible display, Apple has suggested that Mac users opt for third-party options.

The question remains as to what Apple intends to do with the monitor side of things. While Apple is remaining quite for now, rumours are going around that Apple may be announcing a new monitor that would support Thunderbolt 3-equipped Macs. There are also talks that Apple may be leaving the monitor market entirely, but until the company issues an official statement, all of these are purely speculation.
