Some of you who are on the iPhone 6 Plus would have heard about the “Touch Disease” flaw. According to Apple, this little flaw occurs when one drops the iPhone 6 Plus frequently, and results in an unresponsive touchscreen with a grey line visible at the top of the display. If your iPhone 6 Plus has this problem, you would be glad to know that Apple has launched the Multi-Touch Repair Program for the iPhone 6 Plus. The bad news? It’s going to cost you.
From today onwards, any iPhone 6 Plus device that has been affected by the “Touch Disease” can send their phone to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for repairs. The cost of the repair is RM629, although Apple has noted that repair costs at Apple Authorized Service Provider outlets may vary.
Those of you who’ve already fix the issue previously will be entitled to a reimbursement from Apple. The reimbursement amount will equal the difference between the price you paid for the original service to your iPhone 6 Plus and the manufacturer’s suggested service price. This means that if you’ve paid more than the RM629 it costs to fix the issue, you’ll be able to get your money back. If you’ve paid less…well…no one needs to know about it.
