Like many were expecting, Apple finally announced Apple TV+, its new and original video subscription service, featuring shows and programmes from famous celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Jason Momoa, M. Night Shyamalan and more.

To further enhance the experience, the Cupertino tech giant also introduced Apple TV app and Apple TV channels which will allow its users to “watch shows, movies, sports, news and more in one app across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, smart TVs and streaming devices.”

We already know that Netflix won’t be joining in Apple TV+, but users can still get HBO, SHOWTIME and Starz, depending on their subscription service. With the new Apple TV app, iOS users will be able to enjoy programmes both online and offline, in addition to renting or purchasing iTunes movies and TV shows.

Apple TV+ will be available later this fall and its pricing has yet to be announced, while the Apple TV app is coming in May for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV users, and during the fall for Mac users. Like Apple’s new game subscription service — Apple Arcade — Apple users can share Apple TV+ and channel subscriptions with their family members through Family Sharing.
