Android Wear update: speaker support and new gestures

Google has just announced a major update for wearables with Android Wear, after a while since the last major one. The latest update is said to bring new gestures to these wearables, new options when sending voice messages to contacts, added speaker support while making calls and listening to voice messages.

After last years update which allowed users to scroll through cards without touching the screen, the new update will include the option to expand the cards, bring up apps or navigate back to the watch face on the home screen by simple gestures such as lift, push or shake.

Android Wear users are now able to send voice messages through third party apps without having to touch the screen, using the “Ok Google” feature. Apart from that, with the added speaker support, making and receiving calls can be done through the speaker, however, only available for wearables with speakers, such as the Huawei Watch and the ASUS ZenWatch 2.
