Android Wear 2.0 will arrive to the ASUS ZenWatch 2 & 3 in early Q2

If you own an Android Wear smartwatch, chances are that it isn’t running Android Wear 2.0 unless you’re having one of LG’s smartwatches in partnership with Google – the LG Watch Style and the LG Watch Sport. Either that, or you’ve stolen a Huawei Watch 2 from the Mobile World Congress currently going on at Barcelona. As far as the launch of Android Wear 2.0 is good news, most existing Android Wear users are still anxiously waiting for the latest software to rollout to their wearables.

A Twitter user Joel blasted a question to the @ASUSUSA Twitter page, asking when will the ZenWatch 2 get Android 2.0. Based on Joel’s question and the response by ASUS, it’s likely that Joel didn’t quite understand that the roll out of Android Wear 2.0 does not mean that it will arrive to supported devices immediately, but ASUS USA’s response definitely revealed something we did not know before this:

Hey Joel — the Android Wear 2.0 roll-out start date was last week, however, AW 2.0 will not come to the ZW 2/3 till early Q2.”

There you have it. This is somewhat good news for both ASUS ZenWatch 2 and ZenWatch 3 users as they now know when to expect Android Wear 2.0 for their wrist toys. The rough rollout dates for the rest of the non-Android Wear 2.0 devices have yet to be revealed by respective manufacturers. Are you waiting for Android Wear 2.0 as well?
