Android Wear 2.0 is slowly picking up its pace since its public release not too long ago. More and more Android Wear smartwatches have been launched and the older models are beginning to get their respective updates to the latest wearable software by Google. When Android Wear 2.0 was showcased last year, it boasted numerous new and nifty features, one of which was a handwriting keyboard, but the said feature is said to be difficult to access on the wearable interface. Google has finally added support for its app Google Handwriting Input on Android Wear 2.0.
If you happen to own an Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch, or have had yours updated to the latest wearable software, you’ll now be able to input text on your smartwatch using Google Handwriting Input. This means that you can trace letters on your smartwatch screen and Google will try to predict what you’re writing by coming out with a list of word suggestion to ease your tiny screen handwriting experience.
But of course, there’s always another way to type on your Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch using the ordinary Google Keyboard. The swiping gesture allows you to swipe across the keyboard to type out your words instead of trying to tap on the letters one by one. Both handwriting and swiping takes a little bit of getting used to, especially on a screen that tiny, but they are still worth the try, no?
