Lenovo did some testing of Nougat software with both the Moto G4 and the G4 Plus back in October, and now the company has finally rolled out the official version of its Nougat flavored software for both handsets. Both the Moto G4 and the G4 Plus were unveiled a little over half a year ago back in May this year, and ran on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The arrival of Nougat will definitely be a major update for the Lenovo devices.

Most of you would know what do expect with Android Nougat, such as multi-window support, quick switching within apps , Doze on the go, notification direct reply and many more new features that are bundled with Google’s latest software. You can get the full list via the source link below. As for Moto specific updates, Lenovo has added a new Moto action – “Swipe to shrink the screen.” Another feature is the ability to lock the screen using the fingerprint sensor, a feature only available to the larger Moto G4 Plus.

If you haven’t yet received a notification on your Moto G4 device, you are advised to go to “Settings > About phone > System updates” to check for the update. Once prompted, select “Yes I’m in” to download the software, and then select “Install now”, simple as that. Do bear in mind that Lenovo recommends you to have at least 50 percent of battery on your device before updating, and to update your device over a Wi-Fi connection.
