The Threadripper, as most of you know, is one of the most powerful processors that you can get on the market. It came with a whopping 16-cores and 32-threads of processing power, and when we tested it out, it really did perform extremely well when it comes to productivity work but not a lot on gaming. Now, with the 2nd-Generation of the Threadripper processor, AMD went all out and placed 32-cores in the chip, which some of you might ask, why?

Regardless of the madness, a new leaked from Wccftech has surfaced that states the new Threadripper processors will see an August 13 release date alongside the 24-core variant. The Threadripper 2990X will come with a clock speed of 3.4GHz with a boost up to 4GHz while its closest competitor is Intel’s workstation grade processor that comes with 28-cores and a 5GHz clock speed. As you can expect, the price is not going to be cheap, based on a German reseller, the 2900X will cost $1,770. However, it is still cheaper than Intel’s option which might cost $10,000, which is pretty unlikely.

Just like with all leaks and rumours, take this information with a grain of salt as AMD is still very hushed on the release date and price of these new Threadripper processors.
