This year, Apple is expected to introduce a flagship version of the iPhone that would be the first to sport an OLED display. However, this may just be the beginning of things to come as there are reports coming in that Apple plans to adopt OLED screens for all of its iPhone models by 2019.

According to a report by Korean website The Bell, supply chains are reporting that Apple is looking to double the adoption of OLED panels for the 2018 iPhone models. By 2019, Apple is looking to have all of its iPhones to sport OLED-display models, ranging from the affordable versions all the way to the flagship. In the meantime, Apple will be sourcing three suppliers for the OLED panels for this year’s flagship iPhone. The phone is expected to enter production around April or May.

Rumours surrounding this year’s iPhone model indicates that there wlll be three versions available. Where the flagship iPhone is expected to sport an OLED display, the other two would retain the standard LCD panels.
