A new patent found by Patently Apple recently revealed that Apple is planning to add through-body inputs that allows users to control their AirPods Pro 2 with body gestures.

The tech giant filed a patent that focuses on through-body sensor so users can touch their faces, click their teeth together or even their tongues to trigger a control. There’s also input actions that body movements like shaking heads, moving hands/legs and more.

Or control it quietly using your voice

Apple’s patent also included subvocalisation to control the wearable audio device, which we’re assuming is the AirPods Pro 2. Simply put, users can control the AirPods Pro 2 by making different kinds of sounds at a very minimal volume in which most humans will not be able to hear.

This all sounds very futuristic, so it’s highly unlikely that you’ll see this unique control method in the near future. It’s also possible that Apple may include through-body controls in other audio devices instead of the AirPods Pro 2, like the AirPods 3 or even the AirPods Max.
