Alongside the Predator Triton 500 SE, Acer also announced the local availability of their new Helios 300 and 500 series laptops.
Helios 300
Under the hood of this 15.6-inch laptop is your choice of either an Intel Core i9-11900H or a Core i7-11800H. You can pack up to an RTX 3070 with the Core i9 (32GB RAM) and Core i7 (16GB RAM) models, while the Core i7 (8GB RAM) variant will come with an RTX 3060 GPU instead.
The top two variants sport a 165Hz QHD slim-bezel display panel, while the RTX 3060 model comes with a 360Hz FHD panel instead.
You can also get the Helios 300 with a 17.3-inch display instead; and there are two options to pick from – Core i7 + RTX 3070, 165Hz QHD panel, or Core i7 + RTX 3060 360Hz FHD panel.
Elsewhere, you get a four-zone RGB backlit keyboard, a 59Wh battery, the 5th-Gen AeroBlade 3D fan design for cooling, Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort support via USB-C, HDMI 2.1, and more.
Helios 500
This is the priciest of the lot and therefore packs the most powerful hardware – under the hood, you can pack up to an Intel Core i9-11980HK, and RTX 3080.
What truly sets it apart from the rest is its 4K Mini LED UHD display panel that you can get on the Core-i9 17-inch model. It pushes a 120Hz refresh rate and has a VESA Display HDR 1000 colour gamut.
In terms of RAM and storage, you can slot in up to 64GB of memory and up to a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD.
Elsewhere, the Helios 500 come with MagForce mechanical switches on the WASD keys that Acer claims allow users more control over their in-game characters.
Price and availability
The Helios 300 is priced from RM6,299 for the 15-inch model, and RM7,999 for the 17-inch variant; while the Helios 500 is priced from a whopping RM13,999. Visit Acer’s e-store or Shopee page to pre-order your laptop this October 30 and you’ll even get over RM1,000 worth in gifts.
