Just as we have finished our review of the Acer Nitro 5, Acer has come out and announced that the Nitro 5 will be having an AMD processor and graphics card version of the laptop. This would mean that they will be able to offer the laptop for RM2,999 which makes it even more of a value gaming laptop.
The AMD variant of the Nitro 5 will come with AMD’s quad-core FX-9830P clocked at 3.0GHz with Turbo CORE technology of up to 3.7GHz and will feature an AMD Radeon RX550 graphics card with 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM. The overall design of the laptop is still maintained but it will still come with 4GB of RAM upgradable to 16GB of RAM. The 15.6-inch FHD screen is still present in the AMD variant as well as the ports offered on the Intel variant.
Acer is currently having a promotion for the Acer Nitro 5 AMD version, customers of the first 200 units of the AMD Nitro 5 will get an RM499 Predator gaming mouse and a complimentary Acer-designed backpack. The laptop will be available at the end of September 2017 at all authorised Acer Resellers nationwide.
