Acer announces the new Chromebook 715 and 714, made for enterprise

Acer’s Chromebook devices have been known to accommodate for education purposes, but now the company has decided to expand the Chromebook to enterprise with the Chromebook 715 and Chromebook 714.

The new Acer Chromebook 715 has a 15.6-inch IPS display with Full HD display, and users can opt for touch-screen or standard displays. On the other hand, the Chromebook 714 has a 14-inch Full HD display with slim bezels that measures at 6.18mm. Like the Chromebook 715, there is also the option of a touch-screen display or a standard display.

Both Chromebooks comes with an all-aluminium chassis with military-grade protection that can handle up to 48 inches drops and 60kg of downward force. In addition, the Corning Gorilla Glass touchpad is also scratch and moisture resistant. To increase security, both Chromebooks also has an integrated fingerprint reader that is located next to the keyboard.

The Chromebook 715 and 714 both have backlit keyboards, but the 715 also comes with a numeric keypad to accommodate for those who are always working on numbers. They also have a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.0 port and a microSD card reader.

Both devices are powered with up to 8th Gen Intel Core processors and can last up to 12 hours. They come with either 8GB or 16GB DDR4 SDRAM and is coupled with either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage.

The Chromebook 715 starts at EUR599 and will be available in EMEA in June, whereas the Chromebook 714 starts at EUR549 and will be also be available in the same area and time as its sibling.
