A Nexus 7 successor to roll out later this year

The Nexus 7, though at only 7 inches, seemed to ship pretty well back in 2012 and 2013. Google even pushed out a newer and more improved version of the tablet with the same manufacturer ASUS, a year after the first iteration. However, we all do know for Google will be putting the Nexus branding to rest as Google’s next line of phones are rumored to be named the Pixel and Pixel XL respectively, slated to launch early next month. The last known Nexus tablet was the Nexus 9 by HTC, and now popular tipster Evan Blass has stated that Google will be releasing a 7-inch tablet built by Huawei.

The claims made by Blass shouldn’t be taken lightly, as most of them turn out to be accurate in the past. He claims that the 7-inch tablet by Huawei will be released by the end of this year. Though our knowledge about the said tablet is zero as of now, Blass did mention that the 7-incher will be packing 4GB of RAM under the hood. If Blass’ claim that Huawei will be building the Nexus 7 successor, then it’s likely that we might be looking at a tablet which looks similar to the MediaPad M3 in terms of aesthetics. For its internals, Google might be the one deciding instead, hence we should be expecting a non Kirin processor, considering the fact that Google opted with NVIDIA Tegra processors in both the Nexus 9 and Pixel C respectively.

For now, try not to speculate any further and take Blass’ statement with a huge grain of salt even though it is by Evan Blass. Do you think Google will be releasing a 7-inch tablet in a world where 5.5-inch phones are the norm? Let us know your thoughts at the comments section below.
