Even though Samsung has completely removed the ill fated Galaxy Note 7 from the shelves, the company certainly isn’t letting go of the device that soon, as it has finally confirmed that the phone may return with a different product name, this doesn’t mean that the company is just going to sell leftover devices by merely renaming them, but it will reportedly work with US authorities and carriers to sell a revised ‘Note 7’ with a smaller sized battery that should prevent it from exploding, there has been no news if the company will ever extend this initiative to other parts of the world.

If you think the reason behind this is to keep the company’s sales going, Samsung has given The Verge a statement that this is done to reduce and minimize any environmental impact, more details on the ‘Note 7’ replacement will be announced when the device is made available, and the company has reassured that it has no plans to sell refurbished units of the Galaxy Note 7. The company’s decision to do this could be related to the Greenpeace protest that happened back in Mobile World Congress this year, where protesters are against the company’s effort in disposal the Galaxy Note 7. In this case, we hope to se some of the Note 7’s components to be reused on the new device, considering that the only affected component during that time was the battery.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s Galaxy S8 will be announced in two days, and we can probably expect to see more on what the company is up to.
