Beats and The Pokémon Company International have released a special-edition Beats Pill decorated with Pikachu and Mimikyu. The collaboration keeps the current Pill’s core audio hardware and US$149.99 price, but adds a two-sided character design, custom packaging and the first charm set offered with a Beats Pill.
Pikachu appears in electric yellow across one side of the grille, while the reverse uses a grey Mimikyu treatment. A colour-matched lanyard carries a Poké Ball charm alongside Beats and lightning-bolt pieces, turning what is otherwise a familiar portable speaker into a collector-focused edition.
Same Pill hardware, much louder design
Underneath the artwork is the current Beats Pill platform. Beats rates it for up to 24 hours of playback and provides Fast Fuel charging, which it says can deliver up to two hours of listening from a 10-minute charge. The speaker can also top up a compatible phone through USB-C.
USB-C supports high-resolution lossless audio when connected by cable, while wireless listening uses Class 1 Bluetooth. Two Pills can be linked in Amplify Mode for more output or Stereo Mode for separate left and right channels. Pairing, device-finding features and basic controls are supported on both iOS and Android.
Beats describes the speaker’s racetrack woofer and separate tweeter as delivering deeper bass, crisp highs and room-filling sound. Those are manufacturer claims; the Pokémon edition has not been independently assessed here, and the cosmetic changes do not imply an acoustic upgrade over the standard model.
Built for travel, with the usual water-resistance caveat
The Pill is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, weighs 680g and measures 21.9cm long. Its 20-degree upward tilt is designed to direct sound towards the listener, while the silicone backing and removable lanyard make it easier to place or carry outdoors.
IP67 does not make a device permanently waterproof. Resistance can diminish through wear or damage, and the speaker should still be dried before connecting a cable or charging.
Availability remains limited by market
The Pokémon x Beats Pill went on sale on October 15, 2026 for US$149.99 through Apple and Target in the United States, Apple and Argos in the UK, and Apple and Douyin in China. The official Beats product page was marked sold out when checked, which underlines the limited nature of the release rather than guaranteeing additional stock.
Beats has not announced Malaysian pricing or an official local release. Malaysian collectors considering an import should factor in seller reliability, warranty coverage and the possibility that replacement stock may be scarce.
