Smartphone batteries are getting seriously big in 2026, and vivo is joining the 10,000mAh club with the upcoming vivo V80 Lite 5G, which is set to launch in Malaysia on September 3.
Ahead of its local debut, vivo has announced that the V80 Lite 5G has achieved a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Longest Electronic Product Testing Livestream, with the test running continuously for 32 hours and 37 minutes.

The record was achieved by the vivo V80 Lite 5G Team from China and verified in Chiang Mai, Thailand on August 11, 2026, serving as an endurance demonstration for one of the phone’s biggest features — its enormous 10,000mAh battery.
A 10,000mAh Battery Without Carrying a Power Bank
The vivo V80 Lite 5G features a 10,000mAh BlueVolt Battery, which vivo says is the largest battery it has ever fitted into one of its smartphones.
That is nearly twice the capacity of the batteries found in many conventional smartphones, putting the V80 Lite 5G into a growing new category of phones designed around multi-day endurance rather than simply trying to make it through a full day.
The interesting part is how quickly this trend is developing. Silicon-carbon battery technology has allowed smartphone manufacturers to increase energy density without making devices proportionally thicker, and we are now beginning to see battery capacities that would have sounded more appropriate for a power bank just a few years ago.
For users who spend long hours gaming, navigating, recording video or using their phones as mobile hotspots, having 10,000mAh available could significantly reduce the need to carry a separate power bank.
Designed to Keep Going in Malaysia’s Heat
There is another specification that should be particularly relevant to Malaysian users.
vivo says the V80 Lite 5G is designed to continue providing consistent power at temperatures of up to 45°C, reducing excessive battery drain when the phone is being used in hot environments.
That’s potentially useful considering how quickly smartphones can heat up when they are being used outdoors in Malaysia, particularly when running navigation, recording video, gaming or using 5G connectivity.

To demonstrate the phone’s endurance, vivo subjected the V80 Lite 5G to an extended electronic product testing livestream.
The test lasted 32 hours and 37 minutes, earning the team a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Longest Electronic Product Testing Livestream.
While a record-breaking livestream isn’t necessarily representative of how everyone will use their smartphone, it certainly gives vivo an unusual way of demonstrating just how long its latest battery-focused device can keep operating.
More importantly, the 10,000mAh capacity itself should make the V80 Lite 5G particularly interesting for users who prioritise battery life above almost everything else.
