It would seem that Samsung’s nightmare of exploding smartphones and washing machines isn’t over, as officials haven’t concluded the results of what caused the Note 7 to explode, Gizmodo has reported that a user in Pau, France has had an unfortunate experience with a Galaxy J5, a year-old phone model that has been commended for its value and features. Lamya Bouyirdane, the owner of the Galaxy J5 told the Associated Press that she realized the phone to be swollen after her four-year old son picked up the phone, which she immediately tossed it away and in the next moment, the battery has started to smoke.

Judging by the picture itself, the Galaxy J5 seems to be intact whereas the battery is confirmed destroyed, which highly suggests this issue to be caused by the battery alone. Bouyirdane and her partner have apparently purchased the phone in June this year, despite being a 2015 phone model, they have managed to brought it to Morocco which the phone was working fine despite of the hot weather. As of now, Samsung has responded to Gizmodo with the following comment: “We are unable to comment on this specific incident until we obtain and thoroughly examine the device. Customer safety remains our highest priority and we want to work with any customer who has experienced an issue with a Samsung product in order to investigate the matter and support them. The issues with the Galaxy Note7 are isolated to only that model.”

Samsung didn’t really have a great year as 2016 draws to the end, there has not been a proper explanation of why its phone batteries are exploding everywhere, the company is expected to rush its next flagship the Galaxy S8 for now, and let’s hope this will be over soon for the Korean firm. If you happen to be carrying a Note 7, we urge that you return your device for a swap or refund to avoid any unfortunate incidents.
