Xiaomi just can’t seem to catch a break, having launched the Mi 5 and Mi 5s series earlier this year. The Chinese manufacturer’s Mi Note phablet took a break from a refresh last year after it was first launched back in 2014. Lately, rumors have arose surrounding a second iteration of the phablet, leading to its launch in China next week.
According to Android Pure, Xiaomi appears to have confirmed an event on the 25th of October, which is just a little over a week from now. The announcement came along with a teaser or two by the company. Rumor has it that the Mi Note 2 will feature a dual-edge curved screen with zero bezels, which might make it resemble Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge. The display is said to be of QHD resolution, measuring at 5.7-inches. It is also rumored to sport an Apple-like 3D touch functionality.
Underneath the hood, the Mi Note 2 is said to sport a Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB or 6GB RAM variants, along with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB memory configurations. In terms of its camera, recent rumors tell us that the handset will feature a massive dual rear camera setup of two 16MP shooters, plus a 5MP selfie camera on the front, though an 8MP front camera would seem more Xiaomi-like. The Mi Note 2 will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery and will have Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. The phone is said to be running Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box when it launches.
Android Pure has also revealed that the launch will be at 2:00pm local time on October 25th at Beijing. The Mi Note 2 will most likely remain in Xiaomi’s domestic market before being rolled out to other regions. With only 8 days to go, what do you think of the Mi Note 2’s rumored specs so far?
