U Mobile is once again in a partnership with WeChat, launching two Mini Programs — the WeChat GO Malaysia Mini Program and the Pavilion KL Mini Program. Both programs are within WeChat ecosystem and focused on assisting tourists from mainland China.

To enhance the travelling experience of mainland China tourists, WeChat GO Malaysia Mini Program serves as an interactive guide and also provide payment services in RMB when they purchase tickets from KLIA Express, CatchThatBus, TripCarte and POS Malaysia. For example, they can use the WeChat GO Malaysia Mini Program to book their airport transfer train ride whereby the QR ticket will be saved in the Mini Program.

On the other hand, the Pavilion KL Mini Program helps mainland China tourists who visit the famous mall in KL. This Mini Program supports both Chinese and English language to provide efficient communication between merchants and tourists. In addition, mainland a China tourists can use the Mini Program to make reservations, order and pay for their meal in more than 30 participating F&B merchants and also order and pay for their merchandise from stores. They simply need to collect the purchases when they’re ready, so there’s no need for face-to-face payment — saving time.

Back in 2017, U Mobile partnered with WeChat and launched the U Mobile WeChat GO SIM that offers unlimited messaging on WeChat. Now, the companies choose to create Mini Programs within WeChat itself because it is the top messaging app that is used in China, so they won’t have to download an extra app. The program is also location-based meaning that different programs will be offered, and this feature will be expanded to more cities and states in the future.
