Google Assistant is everywhere and in everything that powers with electricity – and we’re not surprised; the AI virtual assistant has become instrumental in streamlining menial daily routines like turning on the radio or checking the time.

Because it’s used by everyone and everywhere, Google has announced during the Google I/O 2019 conference that the feature will be enhanced and will work ten times faster than before. According to Tech Radar, the AI in Google Assistant taps into data from Google’s cloud every time it tries to process a voice command.

Up until now, data takes a whopping 100GB of storage, and hence the slow responses from your Google Assistant. Google has now announced that they’ve found a way to reduce data size to just 500MB, and it lowers latency between voice requests and the AI’s processing time.

Thanks to this new level of processing speed and comprehension, Google Assistant can now help better when composing e-mails; according to Tech Radar, it will know if you want to put text in the body or the subject line, along with other improvements.

The best improvement? Voice-controlled alarm and timers – when something goes off, all you need to do is say “Stop” and forego the “OK Google” part of the command.
