AMD’s APU family of processors has just undergone their first benchmark test for triple-A games like Overwatch, The Witcher 3, Battlefield 1 and more. Combining them with Vega architecture, it allowed the new Ryzen processors to even beat an Intel Core i5 processor at iGPU performance.

AMD compared the Ryzen 5 2400G processor with its Intel counterpart, the Core i5-8400 and if the results are true, the Ryzen leaves the Core i5 far behind in the dust. The test was done with the games set on the highest graphics settings and in 1080p resolution with the exception of Overwatch which was set at medium graphics settings. The Ryzen processor managed at least 20 more frames per second in all the games and shows a huge jump when it came to Skyrim. Where the Intel processor struggles to get games running at the 30 frames mark, the Ryzen processor manages almost 60 frames on some of the game and a steady 40 frames and above for the rest.

It looks like the new Ryzen processors are living up to the expectation, as we seen the same great performance over Intel when it came to the regular Ryzen processors that released last year. The processor will not be ideal for enthusiasts gamers but for those of you casual gamers, this will definitely be a bang for your buck.
