Smart assistants have come a long way in recent years, with new ones like Bixby slowing stepping up with the big boys like Apple and Google, Samsung has announced previously that they are also producing a home smart speaker that will be powered by Bixby.
Bloomberg has recently reported that the Korean tech giant will be releasing their smart speaker early 2018. However, the sources could not provide more details on the form factor or feature the speaker will bring to your home but they did mention that it will be cheaper than Apple’s Home Pod which costs $349 while the Bixby smart speaker could get a price tag of only $200. It is more expensive than Amazon Echo but let’s hope the features will justify the price point when they announce more about it.
Its worth noting that the speaker that Bloomberg mentioned is slightly different from what Samsung showed during their Developer Conference but if Samsung is targeting to launch it early next year, high chance we will get to see it during CES 2018 which is happening early January in Las Vegas.
