OnePlus has now released software updates for its 2017 flagships the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T. Both OTA updates include some fixes which will improve the user experience. One unfortunate thing to note is that it still isn’t running on Android Oreo, just good ol’ Nougat.

First off, the update for the OnePlus 5 is Oxygen OS version 4.5.15. Among the updates and fixes that come with the build are:

  • GPS improvements
  • Fixed issue of not able to set customized alarm ringtone
  • Fixed issue of sharing emoji from Bitmoji
  • Updated Android security patch to October
  • General bug fixes

The update doesn’t sound major by any means, but Android security patches are often very important. If you prefer to opt for Android Oreo, OnePlus has already opened up its beta program for OnePlus 5 users.

The newer OnePlus 5T does however come with more significant updates and fixes with Oxygen OS version 4.7.4:

Camera

  • Optimized UI of Camera
  • Improvements for photo quality

System

  • Optimizations for audio from speaker and earphones
  • Optimizations for face unlock
  • Optimizations for vibration
  • Wi-Fi battery usage optimization
  • Improved stability of fingerprint and GPS
  • General bug fixes and system stability improvement

The respective software updates for the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T are currently rolling out. OnePlus claims that the OTA updates will reach a small amount of users before rolling out to the rest of the world.
