Sony has been quiet for some time for a good reason. Recently, there has been a report that Sony is testing a flagship device and a benchmark result of the phone has been spotted on Geekbench. There is no name given to the device except for the model number which was listed as G8341.

The motherboard that the phone is using indicates that it is using the Snapdragon 835 processor, but on the specs sheet, it just shows that it is an 8-core 1.90Ghz processor. In other parts, it will have 4GB of RAM and will be running on Android 7.1.1. How the phone performs is also pretty decent, on single core performance it scored 1909 and 6459 on multicore processing. This indicates that it performs better compared to its rivals and the speculations points to the upcoming Sony Xperia XZ1.

A few weeks ago, the FCC certification panel displayed three upcoming Sony phones. Among the two, it was confirmed that it will be the Xperia XZ1 and XZ Compact but the third one is still unknown. It’s good to see Sony bringing competition into the smartphone market which can only be good to us consumers.
