WhatsApp allows you to share your location in real-time

WhatsApp has announced a new feature that will allow users to share their real-time locations with each other. The feature will allow users to either privately send their location or sent it in a group which is still protected by the app’s end-to-end encryption that has been implemented in a previous update.

To use this feature, users will need to press the attach button (the paper clip icon) in any chat and from there under the Location button there is an option to Share Live Location. Before sending the location, users have the option to set how long will the receivers be able to see your location before it gets hidden again. A unique feature is that if a group were to send all their locations, all of them will pop up on the same map eliminating the need to opening each individual’s attachments.

The new feature will be rolling out in the next few weeks to both Android and iOS and is a feature that we personally believe is good to have as now you can make sure that your loved ones are safe as they make their way to a location or back home.
