VAIO announces a new Windows smartphone

VAIO has just announced its second smartphone. However, instead of being powered by Android, this particular smartphone will run Windows OS instead.

Called the VAIO Phone Biz, this smartphone will be running on Microsoft’s Windows 10 mobile. On the specification side of things, the VAIO Phone Biz will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage that can be expanded upon via a microSD card. The screen itself is a 5.5 inch Full HD screen.

As the VAIO Phone Biz is aimed at business people, it will come preinstalled with Microsoft Office Mobile. The phone will also feature SharePoint, Exchange and Skype for Business services and will come with support for OneDrive and Azure. Of course, Continuum will also be available on the VAIO Phone Biz.

Two versions of the VAIO Phone Biz will be released in Japan, with one being a standard smartphone and the other being a SIM-free version. Pre-orders for the VAIO Phone Biz will open in April.
