The Mi Band 1s now comes with a heart rate sensor at the same affordable $15 price tag

If you think Xiaomi has made things slightly expensive with its recent product announcements, the Mi Band 1s is the new product that will make you stay a fan, as the famous fitness tracker is now upgraded with a built-in heart rate sensor, which is a huge hardware addition only found on more expensive fitness trackers; all while the company offering the same $15 price tag similar to its predecessors. Fitbit and Jawbone, watch out!

The new Mi Band doesn’t look too different from its predecessor, it is however slightly heftier than its predecessor which is possibly due to its new hardware. The Mi Band 1s still features Bluetooth 4.0 LE and a 45mAh battery that offers up to 30 days of battery life, on top of being IP67 water and dust resistant-certified. If you happen to be using a Xiaomi smartphone with MIUI running on it, be reminded that the Mi Band can also be paired to your smartphone as a security token for bypassing your phone’s lock screen.

Xiaomi intends to sell both the new and current Mi Band in its online store, with the original Mi Band getting a price cut to $11, which makes it the most affordable fitness tracking device ever in history. The new Mi Band 1s continues to support devices with at least Android 4.4 and iPhones with iOS 7 and above. It shouldn’t be long before our local Xiaomi folks bring in the Mi Band 1s, and we simply have to pray that the Ringgit doesn’t drop anymore.
