Sony expected to reveal the PlayStation 4 Neo on the 7th of September

Mark the 7th of September on your calendar ladies and gentlemenm as Sony has begun sending out invites for a PlayStation Meeting event that will be held at the PlayStation Theater in New York.

While Sony has not explicitly state what exactly the company will be annoucing at the event, everyone is expecting that the event will debut Sony’s upcoming upgrade to the PlayStation 4 console, the PlayStation 4 Neo. Thus far, all we know about the PS4 Neo is that it will come with better hardware. The PS4 Neo is expected to sport an eight-core CPU with a clockspeed of 2.1GHz, 8GB of RAM that will have a bandwidth of 911MHz, and an improved AMD GCN that has 32 compute units clocked at 912 MHz.

Of course, it is entirely possible that the PS4 Neo won’t be making an appearance at the PlayStation Meeting event, seeing as how the Tokyo Games Show is just a week after this event. However, with the console supposedly going on sale by the end of the year, Sony is running out of time to debut the console proper. With that said, here’s to hoping that Sony would do a upgrade/trade-in offer to those who’ve currently own a PS4 of their own.
