Samsung to introduce Apple-style upgrade program for the Galaxy S7

Last year, Apple announced that it will be providing an upgrade program for the iPhone, allowing users to get a new iPhone so long as they are on a contract. With Samsung’s S7 looming over the horizon, the Korean company is about to take a page out of Apple’s book and will be offering a similar upgrade program for its latest flagship.

According to reports from South Korea news source Electronic Times, Samsung may be launching a phone upgrade program when the S7 is released. Much like Apple’s upgrade program, Samsung’s upgrade program will allow users to upgrade their devices every year so long as they have a signed a 2 year contract with their telco provider. This system will first be implemented in its home country and may eventually be expanded to include other countries.

Currently, the Samsung S7 is expected to launch in March.
