Samsung announces the Galaxy Folder 2

We’ve been running Samsung through the mud for the past week or so, so let’s change the subject matter with a product launch instead. Just recently, the Korean company has announced a new phone, but unlike the standard smartphone, this one is a clamshell flip phone.

From the outside, the Galaxy Folder 2 looks like a phone that originated from the late 90s or the early 2000s. Sporting a 3.8″ display with a resolution of 480×800, the Galaxy Folder 2 measures 122mm folded. While the design of the phone is a throwback to the early days of mobile phones, the specifications are anything but. The Galaxy Folder 2 is powered by a Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage that is expandable, and a 1950mAh battery life. Camera placement is decidedly modern as well, with the phone sporting an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 5MP camera at the front. The phone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

If you’re interested in the device, you may have to import it as it appears that the Galaxy Folder 2 is a China-exclusive device. As for pricing, the Galaxy Folder 2 will supposedly have a retail price of roughly USD250 (RM1,019).
