Plantronics launches the Voyager 5200 Bluetooth headset and the BackBeat GO 3 wiresless earbuds

Audio experts Plantronics had a busy morning today as the company introduced two new earphones to the Malaysian market, both of which appeals to a different group of people.

The first of two earpieces is the Voyager 5200 Bluetooth headset. Targeted at professionals who wish to remain mobile, the Voyager 5200 is a Bluetooth headset that comes with Windsmart technology. This technology utilises an aerodynamic boom on the earpiece, four omni-directional mics and a proprietary wind-cancelling algorithm to remove disruptive noise while keeping the mics focused on the wearer’s voice.

Besides WindSmart, the Voyager 5200 also comes with an extended Class 1 Bluetooth range that allows you to control up to two connected smartphones or tablets from up to 30m away, as well as an exclusive P2i nano-coating that protects the headset from water and sweat. The Voyager 5200 has a battery life of up to seven hours of talk time or up to nine days of standby time. An optional multi-purpose charging case is available to give the earphone an additional 14 hours of talk time. The Voyager 5200 will retail from RM 499 with the charging case being sold seperately for RM 168.

The second earphones that was on display today is a bit more traditional than the Voyager 5200. The BackBeat GO 3, as the name implies, is the 3rd iteration of the BackBeat GO series of earphones. This wireless stereo earphone is designed with audio quality and sound performance in mind, delivering vivid, high-res sounds from a small portable form factor.

Much like the Voyager 5200, this earphone is coated with a P2i nano-coating that protects it from dust, water and sweat. Certain models of the BackBeat GO 3 will come with its own charging case, allowing you to extend the default 6.5 hours battery life of the earphones by an additional 13 hours. The BackBeat GO 3 will retail for RM 499.
