Nike's self-lacing shoe will be available at the end of November

Shoes aren’t something we usually cover here, but Nike’s upcoming offering is an exception. Why is that you ask? Because this particular pair of shoes comes with self-lacing technology.

Called the HyperAdapt 1.0, this particular shoe comes with the company’s adaptive lacing technology that automatically tightens when you put your feet into the shoe. “When you step in, your heel will hit a sensor and the system will automatically tighten,” explains Tiffany Beers, Senior Innovator at Nike. “Then there are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen. You can adjust it until it’s perfect.”

Before you get too excited, do note that the HyperAdapt 1.0 will only be made available at select Nike retail locations in the United States. This means that if you want a pair yourself, your only choice for now is to import them from the States. The HyperAdapt 1.0 will begin shipping out on the 28th of November and it seems that you’ll need to set up an appointment in order to get your hands on one. Prices for the shoes will be made available in the coming weeks.
