The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is definitely an impressive tablet for us to keep an eye on, but if you are looking for a work horse type tablet, Samsung has just the tablet for you, and the fact that it runs on Microsoft Windows 10 might make this device a possible laptop replacement. Introducing the Galaxy Book, which consists of a slew of improvements from Samsung’s previous Galaxy TabPro S Windows tablet.
The Galaxy Book comes in two sizes – the Galaxy Book 10 sports a 10.6-inch display, while the Galaxy Book 12’s display measures at 12-inches. The 10-inch model comes with an LCD panel at 1080p resolution. The 12-incher features a more beautiful and vivid AMOLED display at a higher QHD resolution. As far as specs goes, the Galaxy Book 12 is clearly the more powerful one, sporting a 7th gen Intel Core i5 processor. The Galaxy Book 10 on the other hand features a more tame Intel core m3 processor. Both models come with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of SSD storage. As far as I/O goes, both models have two USB Type-C ports.
Like the Galaxy Tab S3, the Galaxy Book too comes with an S Pen out of the box, with a 0.7mm tip and and 4,096 pressure levels. An added bonus for photography enthusiasts is that the S Pen for the Galaxy Book comes with exclusive Adobe Photoshop integration, which is definitely a plus. On top of that, to make the Galaxy Book an official 2-in-1 productivity tablet, it comes with a keyboard case as well, tailored for both sizes of the Galaxy Book. The keyboard now has back lighting and island style key caps with improved key travel. Both Galaxy Book models are claimed to last approximately 10 hours, which sounds like good news for those who are constantly on the go. With the addition of quick charge, the Galaxy Book should juice up pretty quickly as well.
Samsung has spoken none about the Galaxy Book’s release date or pricing, so those will have to wait. But besides that fact, the Samsung Galaxy Book definitely seems like a promising Windows tablet in 2017.
