HTC’s U11+ selfie camera ad fails miserably

As consumers, most of us probably know that advertisements we come across are usually to good to be true. When it comes to smartphone cameras, we know that perfect selfie ads are a far fetch from what we are capable of in real life. HTC recently collaborated with a British ice skater to promote the selfie camera of the HTC U11+, and the results are mediocre at best.

The image above shows the selfie taken by Danielle Harrison, a British ice skater in the HTC U11+ ad. It is safe to say that HTC failed rather miserably in promoting its flagship selfie camera. The result of the shot highlights the flaws of the front facing camera of 8 megapixels. HTC definitely picked the wrong scenario to begin with for its video advertisement – a poorly lit environment. A selfie under poor lighting while on the move isn’t a wise choice to begin with.

We can now be certain that following the exact same scenario like the video above would yield similar results, and for once, as advertised. HTC should have picked daylight for its advertisement, but we can applaud the Taiwanese smartphone maker for using the actual captured selfie shot for its advertisement. What do you think?

Why are you so bias? when they are just showing that you can take a picture with one hand while doing actions like this? You think other phones can do it ?
