Fans of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy series rejoice, as the company revealed that Final Fantasy XV will be arriving on the consoles within the year.
In a blogpost made by the director of FFXV, Hajime Tabata, he states that development on the games has entered its final phase. Where the previous phases of development requires “wisdom and strength” from the staff, the final phase will focus on the “effort and willpower” of the development team.
While Tabata has promised that FFXV will be hitting stores this year, no concrete release date has been set as of yet.
Final Fantasy XV has been in development since 2006 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Previously titled Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the game was pushed back further and further until Square Enix decided to make it into a full fledged Final Fantasy game. The game will be released for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
