Canon Malaysia launches EOS-1D X Mark II, EOS 80D, EOS 1300D, new IXUS and PowerShot cameras

Canon Malaysia today launched the long awaited flagship EOS-1D X Mark II DSLR camera that aims to take photography and videography to the next level, the successor to the EOS-1D X Mark I gets an upgraded 20.2-megapixel 35mm full frame sensor, a 360,000 pixel RGB + IR metering sensor and EOS iTR AF system that improves tracking precision, Dual DIGIC 6+ processors for blazingly fast imaging performance, extended ISO speeds up to ISO 409600, and it now shoots videos up to 4K resolution at 60 fps and 1080p slow motion videos up to 120fps, this is the first EOS DSLR to be able to shoot 4K and slow motion videos. With the dual DIGIC 6+ processors, the camera is also able to do continuous bursts at 14fps with full autofocus and 16fps in Live View mode, which is the fastest ever in a DSLR camera that makes it great for outdoor photography activities such as taking wildlife and sporting pictures. In addition, the EOS-1D X Mark II’s body is dust and drip proof and made of a strong magnesium alloy material for enchanced protection, there’s also built-in GPS for storing locations of photos.

In conjunction with the launch, Canon also took the opportunity to introduce the EOS 80D and EOS 1300D DSLR cameras for the mass consumer market, the EOS 80D comes with a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor and has significant enhancements in Auto Focus, ISO, and sensor technology to allow photographers take better pictures and videos. With the DIGIC 6 processor onboard, the EOS 80D takes burst shots at 7fps, supports 45 cross-type AF points, extended ISO speeds up to ISO 25,600, and takes 1080p videos at 60fps, this makes it a cheaper alternative to the higher end full frame EOS 7D Mark II. The EOS 1300D on the other hand is what the company calls it a high performance entry-level DSLR, which comes with a significantly huge 18-megapixel APS-C sensor, DIGIC 4+ processor and takes videos in Full HD resolution at 30fps.

If you think DSLRs are too heavy for you, Canon also has the PowerShot G7 X Mark II for taking beautiful photos, featuring a 20.1-megapixel 1-inch BSI CMOS sensor with an aperture range of f/1.8-f/2.8, this compact camera also has top notch photography performance with the DIGIC 7 processor and also takes video in 1080p resolution at 59.94fps, the G7 X Mark II has a focal length of 24-100mm which translates into a 4.2x zoom, which makes it a powerful compact camera that you can trust on taking beautiful photos and smooth videos in a holiday trip, there’s also built-in WiFi and GPS for transffering images to your smartphone conveniently.

In addition, Canon has also introduced three high zoom range PowerShot cameras, namely the SX720 HS (40x Zoom, 24-960mm), SX540 HS (50x Zoom, 24-1200mm) and SX420 IS (42x Zoom, 24-1008mm), the SX720 HS and SX540 HS cameras both come with a 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor and takes Full HD videos up to 60fps, while the lower end SX420 IS gets a 20-megapixel CCD sensor and takes Full HD videos at 30fps. All of these new PowerShot SX cameras features WiFi and NFC connectivity for easy sharing.

The IXUS compact camera family gets three new members as well, the IXUS 175, 180 and 285HS features a 20-megapixel CCD sensor and DIGIC 4+ processor, these compact cameras also have a decent zoom range from 8x up to 12x, and they also support Full HD video recording at 30fps, which makes them all very capable compact cameras for the everyday user, they also have built-in WiFi and NFC for transffering photos to your smart devices.

Finally, the new SELPHY CP1200 photo printer is also introduced today as a mobile photo printer that users can send photos to print via WiFi, it can even be powered with an optional battery pack so users can take along the printer in their road trips and print those memories whenever they want.
