Apple Watch 2 might launch early

Many sources and tech buffs have predicted Apple’s next smartwatch to be launched in September 2016. However, news from DigiTimes suggests that the Apple Watch 2 might get an earlier unveiling this year.

According to the source, Apple will begin its mass production of the company’s second generation smartwatch in Q2 this year. The Cupertino company apparently wanted to shift part of its orders to Foxconn, however it decided that Quanta Computer will be handling all its orders since the product volumes won’t be high.

The Apple Watch, which triumphed the smartwatch market in 2015, still fell short Apple’s target number of units sold. Hence, sources suggest that Apple is toning down its expectations for its next wearable this year.

Rumors suggest that the Apple Watch 2 will feature a Facetime camera, improved fitness sensors and a WiFi chip. As true as it may sound, rumors can’t be fully trusted. Let’s just hope that they’re true.
